Mon Nov 18 01:55:54 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Private Schools to Begin Admissions for 2025-26 Academic Year on November 28

**New Delhi, November 17 (Varta):** Private unaided schools in the National Capital Region (NCR) will commence the admission process for pre-school (nursery), pre-primary (KG), and Class 1 for the academic year 2025-26 on November 28. Applications will be accepted until December 20, according to the Directorate of Education (DoE).

The first admission list will be released on January 17, the second on February 3, with the entire process concluding by March 14, 2025. The DoE has mandated that schools reserve 25% of seats for economically weaker sections (EWS), disadvantaged groups (DG), and children with disabilities (CwSN).

Schools must upload details of open seats (excluding EWS/DG/CwSN seats) on the DoE website by November 25. A merit-based ranking system will be used, with details displayed on school notice boards and websites. The application fee is capped at ₹25 (non-refundable), and purchasing the school prospectus is optional. In case of ties, schools will conduct a transparent lottery, recorded on video and open to parents’ observation. The DoE has also reiterated the 2016 guidelines prohibiting the use of criteria like parental education, dual employment, cultural background, or dietary habits in the admission process. Age limits are set at four years for nursery, five for KG, and six for Class 1.
