Sun Nov 17 13:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Three Arrested After Flares Land Near Netanyahu’s Residence

**Caesarea, Israel** – Israeli police announced the arrest of three suspects Sunday morning in connection with an incident Saturday evening where two flares landed near Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in Caesarea. While Netanyahu was not present at the time, the Shin Bet internal security agency described the event as serious.

A police statement confirmed the arrests and stated that a joint interrogation with the Shin Bet is underway. A court-imposed gag order prevents the release of any further details about the suspects or the investigation for the next 30 days.

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana linked the incident to ongoing anti-government protests, citing inflammatory rhetoric and demonstrations as potential indicators. These protests, which began earlier this year in response to a controversial judicial overhaul, have persisted despite the suspension of the reforms following the October 7th Hamas attack. Protests now also include calls for the release of hostages held in Gaza.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the flare incident and urged a swift and thorough investigation. He emphasized the need to prevent further escalation of violence.
