Panel of farmer representatives constituted for discussions with Kerala counterparts on inter-state water-sharing

**Coimbatore, November 17, 2024** – A panel of Tamil Nadu farmers’ association representatives will meet with their Kerala counterparts in December to discuss inter-state water sharing from west-flowing rivers. The decision was made at a meeting in Coimbatore on Saturday, where experts highlighted water-sharing challenges related to the Pandiyaru-Punnampuzha, Neeraru-Nallaru, and Pamba Achankovil Vaippar river systems. Former Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Department, Tamilarasan, presented potential solutions. P.R. Pandian, president of the All Farmers’ Association of Tamil Nadu’s coordination committee, chaired the meeting. Both Tamil Nadu and Kerala farmers expressed a commitment to resolving these issues through dialogue.
