**Valencia, Spain** – Jorge Martin has been crowned the 2024 MotoGP World Champion. Despite Pecco Bagnaia winning the Solidarity Grand Prix and the preceding sprint race, Martin’s third-place finish was enough to secure the title by a 10-point margin. This marks a historic win, as Martin becomes the first independent team rider to claim the championship in the MotoGP era.
Bagnaia, the reigning champion, dominated the race, leading from start to finish. However, eight DNFs (Did Not Finish) throughout the season ultimately cost him the title. Marc Marquez finished second in the race, securing third overall in the championship standings.
