Sun Nov 17 03:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Kansas Jayhawks Rout Oakland Golden Grizzlies in Dominant 78-57 Victory
**Lawrence, KS** – The No. 1 ranked Kansas Jayhawks cruised to a comfortable 78-57 victory over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Saturday, extending their undefeated season to 4-0. The Jayhawks’ depth proved too much for Oakland, as Kansas dominated the boards and showcased a balanced scoring attack.
AJ Storr led the Jayhawks’ bench with a season-high 16 points, while starters KJ Adams (12 points), Rylan Griffen (11 points), and Hunter Dickinson (10 points, 9 rebounds) also reached double figures. Kansas’ bench contributed a significant 36 points, dwarfing Oakland’s 17. The Jayhawks’ methodical approach saw them build a commanding 22-point lead by halftime, a margin Oakland never seriously threatened in the second half. Kansas even played the final four minutes with only reserves on the court.
Oakland’s Allen Mukeba led the Grizzlies’ scoring efforts with 19 points, and Tuburu Naivalurua added 12. However, Oakland struggled mightily from beyond the arc (6-of-23, 27%) and at the free-throw line (3-of-12), significantly hindering their comeback attempts. The Grizzlies were significantly outmatched inside, especially in the first half, where they were outrebounded 20-12 and outscored 26-14 in the paint.
Despite scoring only two points, Jayhawks point guard DaJuan Harris made a significant impact with six assists, one turnover, and four steals, effectively stifling any potential Oakland rally.
Oakland (1-3) will look to rebound when they host Eastern Michigan on Thursday. Kansas (4-0) continues their campaign against UNC-Wilmington on Wednesday.
