**Bhopal, India** – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh has taken a significant step towards digital outreach by appointing its first-ever WhatsApp Pramukh (chief) in Bhopal. Ramkumar Chaurasia, an MSc graduate, will be responsible for using WhatsApp to connect with the public and disseminate information about government schemes.
This initiative, part of a broader push to digitize the party’s organizational structure, aims to strengthen grassroots connections ahead of the upcoming state booth committee elections. The BJP plans to establish a comprehensive digital network across all 65,015 booths in the state by November 20.
The new booth committee structure, featuring 12 members including roles like Booth President, Mann Ki Baat Pramukh (in charge of promoting Prime Minister Modi’s radio address), and Beneficiary Chief, will include at least three women. Archana Goswami, a former councillor, became the first Booth President under the new system.
State BJP President VD Sharma inaugurated the party’s Booth Sangathan Parv (Booth Organization Festival), emphasizing the importance of technology in connecting with workers and voters. The party is utilizing a dedicated organizational app to streamline and digitize the election process, reducing manual errors and ensuring real-time updates.
The creation of roles like WhatsApp Pramukh and Mann Ki Baat Pramukh highlights the BJP’s strategy to leverage social media and technology for communication and outreach. Mandal and District level elections will follow in December, prioritizing members who actively participated in the party’s recent membership drive. The party aims to ensure that each booth effectively reflects the BJP’s mission of connecting with all citizens, particularly women and youth, through technology.
