Sat Nov 16 15:35:31 UTC 2024: ## Sinner and Zverev Lead the Charge in Nitto ATP Finals Semi-Finals

**Turin, Italy** – The 2024 Nitto ATP Finals knockout rounds begin Saturday in Turin, with top seeds Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev leading the charge into the semi-finals.

Home favourite Sinner, currently World No. 1, boasts a flawless 3-0 record in the group stage, dropping just two break points across his matches against De Minaur, Fritz, and Medvedev. His impressive run, highlighted by seven titles this year, including two Grand Slam victories, sets him up for a clash against Casper Ruud. Ruud, though having secured his semi-final spot after a grueling group stage that included a win over Alcaraz, faces a formidable challenge against the in-form Italian. “He is the best player in the world all year and is playing at home,” acknowledged Ruud.

In the other semi-final, World No. 2 Alexander Zverev, also undefeated in the group stage, will face Taylor Fritz. Both players are among the tour’s most active, with over 50 match wins each this year. Their rivalry is intense, with Fritz holding a 5-6 edge in head-to-head meetings, including three consecutive wins over Zverev this year. Zverev however, is confident ahead of their match: “I’m happy with being 3-0 in the group, but I think now the semi-final is going to be very difficult.”

The doubles semi-finals also promise exciting matches. Top seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic, having clinched the Year-End ATP Doubles No. 1 ranking, will face Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, the only doubles team with a perfect 3-0 record. The other semi-final will see Australian duo Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson take on German pair Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz.

With high stakes and intense competition, the Nitto ATP Finals semi-finals promise a thrilling conclusion to the tournament.
