WASHINGTON, D.C. – President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of Karoline Leavitt as his White House Press Secretary on Friday. Leavitt, 27, will assume the role on January 20, 2025, succeeding Karine Jean-Pierre. She previously served as the Trump campaign’s National Press Secretary and as Assistant Press Secretary in the Trump White House.
In a statement, Trump praised Leavitt’s performance during his campaign, calling her “smart, tough, and a highly effective communicator.” He expressed confidence in her ability to effectively convey his administration’s message.
The announcement also included the appointments of Steven Cheung as Assistant to the President and Director of Communications, and Sergio Gor as Assistant to the President and Director of the Presidential Personnel Office. Both Cheung and Gor have served in advisory roles for Trump since his 2016 campaign. Cheung previously held the role of Director of Strategic Response in the Trump White House, while Gor was CEO of Winning Team Publishing and ran the pro-Trump Super PAC, Right For America.
