**Hyderabad, November 16, 2024** – The Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) announced a significant boost in profitability for the first seven months of the current fiscal year (2024-25). Unaudited accounts reveal a 36% increase in gross profit compared to the same period in 2023-24, reaching approximately ₹4,000 crore.
This surge is attributed to improved financial discipline, according to SCCL officials. Chairman and Managing Director N. Balaram’s daily performance reviews with key executives have played a crucial role. The company remains on track to meet its annual coal production target of 72 million tonnes.
Revenue during the April-October period totaled ₹17,151 crore from coal sales and an additional ₹2,286 crore from energy sales. The ₹1,072 crore increase in gross profit, compared to the first seven months of the previous fiscal year, reflects the company’s success.
SCCL is also focusing on cost reduction by extending the daily operational hours of its machinery from 14 to 20 hours in several key areas, including Manuguru, Ramagundam, Yellandu, Kothagudem, and Ramgundam-III. Daily coal production, which dipped to 100,000 tonnes during the monsoon season, has rebounded to 220,000 tonnes.
