Sat Nov 16 14:26:09 IST 2024: ## Bollywood Actress Disha Patani’s Father Duped of ₹25 Lakh
**Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh:** A gang of five has allegedly defrauded Jagdish Singh Patani, the retired Deputy SP and father of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, of ₹25 lakh. Bareilly Kotwali police registered an FIR on Friday against ShivendrapraTap Singh, Divakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash, and Preeti Garg on charges of cheating and intimidation.
The gang reportedly promised Mr. Patani a high-ranking position in a government commission. They convinced him of their connections with influential government officials, assuring him a chairmanship or vice-chairmanship position. Mr. Patani, believing their claims, handed over ₹5 lakh in cash and transferred another ₹20 lakh through bank accounts.
The gang allegedly threatened Mr. Patani when he expressed concerns about the lack of progress and demanded his money back. He subsequently filed a police complaint after realizing he had been defrauded. The police have launched an investigation and are working to apprehend the accused. They have assured that appropriate action will be taken against them.
