**Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh:** Jagdish Singh Patani, the father of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, has filed a police complaint alleging he was defrauded of ₹25 lakh by five individuals. Mr. Patani, a retired Deputy SP from Bareilly, was approached by Divakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash, introduced through a mutual friend. The accused reportedly claimed connections to influential politicians and promised him a high-ranking government position, including chairmanship or vice-chairmanship of a government commission.
After receiving the money three months ago, the accused failed to deliver on their promise and subsequently threatened Mr. Patani when he demanded a refund. A police case has been registered, and investigations are underway to apprehend the accused. The police have confirmed that they are actively pursuing the five individuals involved in the alleged fraud.
