**Chennai, November 16, 2024** – The Tamil Nadu government reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable growth at the CII Sustainable Manufacturing Summit. Principal Secretary of the Environment, Climate Change & Forests Department, P. Senthil Kumar, highlighted key initiatives including the Climate Governing Council, Green Energy Mission, and Wetland Conservation program. These efforts aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy, and support small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in adopting eco-friendly practices.

Furthermore, the state has launched the TANSEED fund to support green startups focusing on renewable energy, waste management, and sustainable agriculture. This underscores Tamil Nadu’s proactive approach to fostering innovation in sustainable technologies.

Gopal Mahadevan, Chair of the CII Tamil Nadu Sustainable Manufacturing Taskforce, emphasized that sustainability is no longer optional but a crucial commitment for industries.
