**Vijayawada, November 15, 2024** – The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-Madras) has partnered with the Andhra Pradesh government on eight major technology-driven initiatives, following a visit by IIT-Madras Director V. Kamakoti to the state’s Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Central Command Control Centre.
Prof. Kamakoti praised the RTGS system, highlighting its innovative approach to public sector technology implementation. After a briefing by Chief Minister’s Secretary P.S. Pradyumna and RTGS CEO K. Dinesh Kumar on the system’s real-time monitoring of public requests, Prof. Kamakoti expressed IIT-Madras’s willingness to collaborate.
The resulting eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) cover a wide range of projects, including: an international deep-tech innovation hub in Amaravati; scaling up digital skills training; mentorship programs for students and teachers; developing Kuppam and Puttaparthi as aviation and logistics hubs; strengthening Visakhapatnam as an internet gateway; advancing maritime research and coastal energy; creating a smart sports city in Amaravati; and using AI and data science to enhance RTGS operations. These collaborations represent a significant investment in Andhra Pradesh’s technological advancement and its commitment to citizen-centric governance.
