**Johannesburg, South Africa:** India’s cricket team delivered a record-breaking performance in the fourth and final T20 International against South Africa, achieving a resounding 135-run victory. Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson led the charge with breathtaking batting displays, smashing centuries and rewriting the record books.

The Indian duo put on a stunning 210-run partnership for the second wicket off just 86 balls, setting a new record for the highest partnership for any wicket in a T20I for India. Varma blazed his way to 120* runs, including 10 sixes and 9 fours, while Samson contributed a magnificent 109*. Their combined efforts propelled India to a staggering 283/1 in 20 overs – the highest ever T20I score by an Indian team on foreign soil. This surpassed Suryakumar Yadav’s previous record of 117 runs against England in 2022.

Varma’s innings also tied Rohit Sharma’s record for most sixes in a T20I innings by an Indian batsman (10), a feat achieved twice by Sharma himself. Furthermore, Varma became only the second Indian batsman after Samson to score consecutive T20I centuries. This match marked the first time in T20I history that two players from the same team scored centuries in a single match.

Samson also etched his name in the history books by becoming the first player in the world to score three T20I centuries within a year. He is also the second player to score two centuries in a T20I series, following Salt’s achievement last year against the West Indies.

India’s collective hitting power was also on full display, with the team smashing a record-breaking 23 sixes in the innings, surpassing their own previous record of 22 sixes against Bangladesh last month. Individually, Varma set a new record for most sixes (20) by an Indian batsman in a bilateral T20I series, exceeding Virat Kohli’s previous best of 13. Samson followed closely with 19 sixes, putting him in second place.

The explosive performance overshadowed any concerns about the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The match was a resounding testament to the team’s attacking prowess and the exceptional talent of Varma and Samson.
