Sat Nov 16 00:20:00 IST 2024: ## India’s Suryakumar Yadav Blames Poor Batting After T20 Loss to South Africa
**Gqeberha, South Africa:** India suffered a three-wicket defeat against South Africa in the second T20I of their four-match series on Sunday. Captain Suryakumar Yadav attributed the loss to India’s poor batting performance, stating that a total of 125 or 140 runs was insufficient in a T20 match.
India, after winning the first T20I, managed only 124/6 in their 20 overs, with Hardik Pandya top-scoring with 39 runs. South Africa chased down the target in 19 overs, reaching 128/7. Tristan Stubbs led the South African chase with a 47-run knock.
Despite the defeat, Yadav praised his team’s bowling performance, highlighting the impressive five-wicket haul by Varun Chakravarthy while chasing a low total. “You always have to back whatever total you get,” Yadav said post-match. “Obviously, you don’t want 125 or 140 in a T20 game, but I’m proud of the way our bowlers bowled. In a T20 game, to get a five-for while chasing 125 is unbelievable.”
Yadav remains optimistic about the remaining two matches, stating, “There are still two games left, a lot of entertainment left, and it will be fun in Johannesburg.” The series continues with the next match in Johannesburg.
