**Orange County, CA** – Real Housewives of Orange County star Alexis Bellino has opened up about how her strong Christian values have remained steadfast despite her son Miles coming out as transgender several years ago. During the Bravo series’ season 18 reunion, Bellino addressed how Miles’ transition has shaped her understanding of the LGBTQ+ community.
“It hasn’t changed my mind about LGBTQ or that everyone should have their own right to live their life the way they want,” she shared. “All it has done is made me understand the pain that is along with that when people are so judgmental. It changed me being more vocal about it is all its done.”
Bellino emphasized that her faith remains a cornerstone of her life, stating, “I’m very spiritual and I do love my God.” She defended past comments about putting God first in her relationships, reiterating her belief that this order—God, spouse, children—contributes to a stronger marriage.
While her faith remains a priority, Bellino admitted that her son Miles’ transition has prompted her to become a stronger advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. She also revealed that Miles reacted with humor to the news of her engagement to John Janssen, the ex-boyfriend of her costar Shannon Beador.
“Miles’ response was ‘WTF’,” Bellino recalled. “He’s like, ‘CALL ME NOW,’ all capital letters. He’s like, ‘John, you did not ask my permission!'”
Costar Heather Dubrow, who also has a child in the LGBTQIA+ community, shared her appreciation for Bellino’s support during this time. “She’s been an incredibly solid sounding board for me,” Dubrow said, “and I appreciate it.”
