**Hyderabad, India** – Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been appointed captain for the upcoming Test series against the West Indies, replacing Najmul Hossain Shanto who is sidelined with a left groin injury.

Shanto, who was injured during the second ODI against Afghanistan, has been ruled out of the ongoing third ODI and will return to Bangladesh for recovery.

The Bangladesh squad will also be without regular players Mushfiqur Rahim (finger injury), Shakib Al Hasan (retired from Test cricket), and Tamim Iqbal (dropped from the team).

Litton Das returns to the squad after recovering from a fever, while uncapped left-arm spinner Hasan Murad has been included, potentially providing spin support to Miraz and Taijul Islam.

The Bangladesh Test squad will play a four-day warm-up game in Antigua before the first Test match, scheduled for November 22nd. The second Test will be played in Jamaica from November 30th.

Miraz is also expected to lead the Bangladesh team in the upcoming ODI and T20I series against the West Indies, although the squad for those series is yet to be announced.
