Actress Keke Palmer, known for her roles in “Scream Queens” and “Nope,” is alleging that showrunner Ryan Murphy berated her during filming for the Fox horror comedy. The incident, detailed in Palmer’s upcoming memoir “Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative,” occurred when Palmer was unable to fulfill a filming obligation due to a prior business commitment.
According to Palmer, Murphy was furious and called her unprofessional, telling her he “had never seen [her] behave like this.” Palmer, who says she apologized for the inconvenience, was later informed by a co-star that Murphy was still upset. Despite her apologies, Palmer believes the incident may have hindered her future collaborations with Murphy.
“I’m still not sure Ryan cared, or got it, and that’s okay because he was just centering his business,” Palmer writes in her memoir. “But what I do know is even if he didn’t care, and even if I never work with him again, he knows that I, too, see myself as a business.”
Murphy has not yet responded to Palmer’s claims. Palmer’s memoir, “Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative,” is set to be released on November 19.
