Thu Nov 14 19:30:00 UTC 2024: ## England Faces Nations League Challenge With Eight Players Out
England will face Greece and Ireland in their final UEFA Nations League matches under interim manager Lee Carsley, but will be without eight key players due to injuries.
Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Aaron Ramsdale all withdrew from the squad, leaving manager Carsley with a depleted lineup. The absence of these high-profile players, especially the outfield stars, is a major concern for England as they strive to return to League A of the Nations League.
In their place, five replacements have been called up: Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa), Tino Livramento (Newcastle), James Trafford (Burnley), Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) and Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton). This will be the first senior international call-up for Rogers, Livramento and Trafford.
England will look to avenge their 1-2 loss to Greece in October when they face them in Athens on November 14th. Their final match under Carsley will be against Ireland at Wembley on November 17th, before Thomas Tuchel takes over as manager in the new year.
