Fri Nov 15 15:26:13 UTC 2024: ## RSS Chief Calls for ‘Bharatiya’ Development Model, Emphasizing Research and Innovation at National Researchers Conference

**Gurugram, India** – Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has called for a “Bharatiya” (Indian) model of development that works in harmony with nature, contrasting it with the “Western” model which he views as a conquest of nature. Speaking at the inaugural session of the “VIVIBHA 2024: Vision for Viksit Bharat” conference in Gurugram, Bhagwat urged India to develop its own model of development for the world to follow.

The three-day conference, hosted by the Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal – Yuva Aayam at SGT University, brought together young researchers from across India to focus on realizing the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (developed India).

Bhagwat stressed the importance of education, but emphasized that it should be “Bharat-centric,” drawing inspiration from global ideas while maintaining an independent approach. He highlighted the role of teachers in guiding researchers towards a “Bharatiya knowledge system.”

Dr. S. Somanath, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), emphasized the crucial role of research in realizing the vision of a developed India. He highlighted the need to connect research and innovation in science and technology with various sectors, including industries, startups, academia, agriculture, and healthcare. Dr. Somanath outlined ISRO’s future plans, including missions to Mars, Venus, and other planets.

Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi hailed the conference as the beginning of a “yajna” (sacrifice) that will enlighten the world.

The conference, themed “Research to Realisation,” will include six plenary and eleven parallel sessions for researchers. Selected researchers will receive opportunities for publications and prestigious internships at national institutes.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sachchidanand Joshi, Akhil Bhartiya Adhyaksh of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal; Ram Bahadur Rai, Padma Shri winner and Chancellor of SGT University; Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Private University Regulatory Commission; and Vice Chancellors of various universities.
