**New Delhi, November 14, 2024:** The Delhi High Court has issued summons to three individuals accused of defaming news agency Asian News International (ANI) by editing its Wikipedia page.
The lawsuit, filed by ANI, alleges that the individuals inserted false and misleading content, claiming ANI to be a “propaganda tool for the incumbent government.” Despite ANI attempting to correct the information with evidence from reliable sources, their edits were allegedly removed by Wikipedia, restoring the false content.
ANI argues that the malicious conduct of the individuals reflects their intent to defame the agency.
The court’s order follows a previous ruling allowing the summons to be served on the individuals without publicly revealing their identities.
The case is currently under investigation and the individuals are expected to appear in court.
