Dehradun, Uttarakhand: A horrifying video of six students partying and drinking shortly before a fatal car accident in Dehradun has surfaced on social media, highlighting the tragic circumstances of the incident.
The accident, which occurred early Tuesday morning, claimed the lives of six students and critically injured another. The speeding car, carrying the seven individuals, crashed into the rear of a container truck at ONGC Chowk around 1:30 AM.
CCTV footage from the area reveals the students driving at excessive speeds, leading to speculation that their Innova was racing against a BMW before the collision. The impact was so severe that some of the car occupants were reportedly decapitated, leaving the vehicle a mangled wreck.
The victims have been identified as Kunal Kukreja (23), Atul Agrawal (24), Rishabh Jain (24), Navya Goel (23), Kamakshi (20), and Guneet (19). All except Kukreja, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, were residents of Dehradun. The seventh occupant, Siddhesh Agrawal (25), is currently in critical condition at Synergy Hospital.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences, stating the news was “extremely heart-rending” and offering prayers for the departed souls and strength to the grieving families.
The tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of drunk driving and excessive speed. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the institution the students belonged to and their whereabouts late at night.
