**Kochi, November 15, 2024:** Children’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Kochi on November 14, with various events organized by the District Child Welfare Committee. The celebrations highlighted the importance of nurturing children and promoting values of humanity and social responsibility.
Speaking at the main event held at Rajendra Maidan, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve emphasized the importance of being a good human being, urging children to embrace love, compassion, and tolerance beyond caste and religion. He also stressed the need to combat drug abuse and anti-social tendencies.
The event saw a unique representation of leadership with girls chosen as the “president,” “prime minister,” and “speaker” of the children’s gathering, reflecting a progressive approach to fostering inclusivity and gender equality.
The day began with a Children’s Day rally that started at Durbar Hall ground and culminated at Rajendra Maidan. Various competitions like elocution and drawing were held, with winners receiving awards.
District Principal Judge Honey M. Varghese released a special Children’s Day stamp designed by B. Nanmaya of Government HSS, Kannadiparambu, Kannur. The celebrations provided a platform for children to showcase their talents and participate in meaningful activities that promote their holistic development.
