Fri Nov 15 19:14:48 IST 2024: ## Haryana’s Kamboj Scripts History with 10-wicket Haul in Ranji Trophy

Rohtak, India – Anshul Kamboj etched his name into the history books of the Ranji Trophy on Friday, becoming the third bowler to take all 10 wickets in an innings. The Haryana medium-pacer achieved this remarkable feat against Kerala in an Elite Group C clash at the Chaudhary Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Rohtak.

Kamboj, needing just two wickets to complete the milestone, dismissed Basil Thampi and Shoun Roger to finish with figures of 10/49 in 30.1 overs. This puts him alongside Bengal’s Premangshu Chatterjee (10/20 vs Assam, 1956) and Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sundaram (10/78 vs Vidarbha, 1985) as the only bowlers to achieve this feat in Ranji Trophy history.

Furthermore, Kamboj became the sixth Indian bowler to claim a 10-wicket haul in first-class cricket, joining the elite list of legends like Anil Kumble, Subhash Gupte, and Debashish Mohanty.

Riding on Kamboj’s exceptional performance, Haryana bowled out Kerala for 291 in their first innings. The match started late after the first session of Day 1 was washed out due to rain. At the time of writing this article, Haryana was 100/5 in 38 overs, still trailing by 191 runs.

Kamboj also surpassed 50 First-Class wickets in 19 matches. The right-arm seamer recently represented India A in the Emerging Asia Cup in Oman and was a leading wicket-taker in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, claiming 17 scalps in 10 matches as Haryana won the title for the first time.

With his impressive domestic season, Kamboj was picked up by Mumbai Indians ahead of IPL 2024. He played three games towards the end of the season and took two wickets. This latest performance is sure to further enhance his reputation and send a reminder to all IPL franchises ahead of the upcoming mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.
