Thu Nov 14 07:40:00 UTC 2024: ## Snoop Dogg Brought to Tears by Contestant’s Emotional Performance on ‘The Voice’

**LOS ANGELES, CA** – During Monday night’s episode of *The Voice*, coach Snoop Dogg was visibly moved by contestant Austyns Stancil’s emotional performance of Luther Vandross’ “Dance With My Father.” Stancil dedicated the song to his late father, marking the one-year anniversary of his passing.

The powerful rendition, which included lyrics like “I’d give the world to dance with you again,” elicited tears from Snoop Dogg, who drew parallels to the loss of his own mother. “Look, he’s gone,” said guest judge Sting, pointing to Snoop as tears streamed down his face. “So am I, inside, but you know, I’m British – we don’t show our emotions.”

Snoop recounted how he had broken down during a performance following his mother’s death in 2021, but ultimately channeled his grief into a tribute to her legacy. “After that, I never cried again on stage for my momma, because I know that’s what she wanted me to do,” he shared.

Fellow coaches Gwen Stefani, Michael Bublé, and Reba McEntire were also moved by the performance, with Bublé stating, “You just came out and sang one of the great songs from Luther Vandross. You need to be special if you’re going do that. If I was Snoop, I would probably have to pick you.”

Ultimately, Snoop declared Stancil the winner of the Knockout round, praising his resilience and raw emotion. “Austyns was the winner based off of spirit, personality, and how he composed himself to hold in all of that pain and all of that loss to give us a great performance,” Snoop said. “Can’t stop emotion when emotion hits you. Tears start falling, chills on your back, that’s real music, that’s real singing.”

Both Christina Eagle and Jake Tankersley were saved from elimination, advancing to the Playoff rounds. Stancil’s powerful performance, however, showcased the raw emotion and therapeutic power of music, leaving a lasting impact on the audience and judges alike.
