Brisbane, Australia – Australia secured a dominant 29-run victory against Pakistan in a rain-affected opening T20I at the Gabba, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The match was reduced to seven overs per side due to persistent rain and lightning delays, but the action remained intense.

Glenn Maxwell led the charge for the home side, smashing 43 runs off just 18 balls in a breathtaking cameo. He showcased his power and versatility, including a reverse scoop for four boundaries against Naseem Shah and a thunderous reverse sweep six off Shaheen Afridi. Maxwell’s onslaught was instrumental in Australia reaching a daunting 93/4 in their allotted seven overs.

Pakistan’s chase never really got going.
