**Palakkad, Kerala – November 14, 2024:** A tragic incident occurred in Walayar, near Palakkad, on Wednesday evening, claiming the lives of a father and son. Mohanan (65) and his son Anirudh (21) were electrocuted by an illegal power trap set up on their farm to deter wild boars.
According to reports, Mohanan accidentally touched the power line while attempting to redirect water to his farmland. Anirudh, upon hearing his father’s cries, rushed to the scene and was also electrocuted. The power trap was reportedly 100 meters long.
The Palakkad police have launched an investigation into the incident. The bodies of Mohanan and Anirudh were transported to the government district hospital. This incident highlights the dangers of illegal power traps and underscores the need for stricter regulations regarding their use.
