Thu Nov 14 14:24:11 UTC 2024: ## Pandya Walks Off Despite Review, But LBW Decision Stands in South Africa T20I

**Centurion, South Africa:** Despite a valiant century from Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya’s struggles with the bat continued in the third T20I against South Africa. Pandya, dismissed LBW by Keshav Maharaj for 18 runs, walked off the field before the review could be completed, acknowledging his dismissal even before the ball tracking technology confirmed the umpire’s decision.

This dismissal marked another underwhelming performance in the series for the Indian all-rounder, who has managed just 59 runs off 67 balls in the three matches. His previous scores were a paltry 2 runs in the first T20I and a laboured 39 off 45 balls in the second.

While Pandya failed to impress with the bat, his bowling proved more effective, taking the wicket of David Miller. However, he conceded a costly 50 runs in his spell, including 24 runs in one over from Marco Jansen.

India, however, rode on the back of Varma’s magnificent century to post a total of 219 and eventually won the game by 11 runs.

Pandya will have one more opportunity to redeem his batting form in the final T20I of the series.

Meanwhile, the all-rounder is set to lead his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Mumbai Indians, into the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah on November 24 and 25. MI will have a purse of INR 45 crore, having retained five key players – Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, and Tilak Varma.
