**New Delhi:** Tulsi Vivah, an important Hindu festival symbolizing the marriage of Lord Vishnu and the Tulsi plant, will be celebrated on **November 13th, 2024**. The auspicious occasion is traditionally observed on Dev Uthani Ekadashi, the day after Diwali, but due to planetary positions, it will be celebrated a day later this year.
Dev Uthani Ekadashi falls on November 12th, while Tulsi Vivah is scheduled for November 13th. The auspicious time for the ritual is between **5:29 PM and 7:53 PM** on the 13th.
According to religious beliefs, Lord Vishnu wakes up from his eternal sleep on Dev Uthani Ekadashi, and his marriage to Tulsi is the first ceremony performed. This day is considered highly auspicious and is often referred to as “Maha Muhurt”.
The Tulsi Vivah is believed to be beneficial in various ways, fulfilling devotees’ wishes. It is believed that worshipping Tulsi and Shaligram on this day brings happiness, prosperity, and solves marital problems.
**Rituals:**
* Decorate the place of worship with flowers and create a canopy of sugarcane for the Tulsi plant.
* Adorn the Tulsi plant with sixteen adornments and a saree.
* Place the Tulsi plant and Shaligram on a platform and sprinkle them with Ganga water.
* Light a lamp with ghee and apply vermillion and sandalwood paste to both.
* Circumambulate the Shaligram while holding it in your hand.
* Place the Tulsi on the left side of the Shaligram and perform the Aarti.
