Wed Nov 13 02:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Faces Backlash Over Controversial Pharma Cluster in Kodangal
**Hyderabad, November 12 (Namasthe Telangana):** The Telangana government’s ambitious Pharma Cluster project in Kodangal is facing severe criticism and opposition from local farmers and tribals. They allege that the government is forcefully acquiring their lands to benefit the CM’s close associates and their newly established companies.
The government has reportedly initiated land acquisition for a 3,000 acre Pharma Cluster in the Kodangal constituency, despite strong protests from locals. It’s been revealed that several companies linked to CM Revanth Reddy’s in-laws and associates have been established in the past 3-4 years, coinciding with the government’s push for this project.
These companies, including “Geetha Automotives,” “Cameron Foods,” “Maxbin Pharma,” and “Neo Pride Pharmaceuticals,” have no recorded production or business activities, leading to speculation that they may be “suitcase companies” established solely to benefit from the land acquisition.
The government’s aggressive approach to land acquisition, including the construction of roads and electricity poles in the area before land acquisition is complete, has further fueled the controversy. Local residents fear that the government is deliberately creating an illusion of progress to justify forceful acquisition of their land.
The project has also raised concerns within the Congress party itself, with some leaders alleging that the land grab is solely benefiting the CM’s close circle.
The controversial project has created a storm of protest in Telangana and has become a major political issue, highlighting potential corruption and nepotism within the government.
