Wed Nov 13 04:04:17 UTC 2024: ## Deadly Fog-Induced Collision Kills Five, Injures 15 in Gharo

**Gharo, Sindh:** A tragic multi-vehicle collision early Sunday morning on the National Highway near Gharo resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to 15 others. The accident, which involved six vehicles, was attributed to dense fog that shrouded the area at the time.

According to witnesses, a truck loaded with grass was parked on the highway when a chicken truck crashed into it. The impact triggered a chain reaction, causing several other vehicles to collide in quick succession. Officials suspect poor visibility due to fog, combined with speeding, played a role in the deadly crash.

The victims identified as Shoaib, Rehman, Gul Zaman, Nadeem, and Mooen. Two died at the scene while three succumbed to their injuries while being transported to a hospital in Karachi. The accident caused widespread chaos, with injured victims left stranded on the roadside for hours due to a delay in ambulance services. Local residents and police eventually intervened to transport the injured to the Gharo Rural Health Centre. Some of the critically injured were later taken to hospitals in Karachi, while those with minor injuries were treated and discharged. Police, with the assistance of a crane, cleared the damaged vehicles and restored traffic flow on the highway.

**Separately, six people, including two children, were killed in a series of traffic accidents across Karachi on Sunday.** These incidents highlight the ongoing issue of road safety concerns in the city and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations.
