**Orlando, FL** – Jalen Suggs, the former Gonzaga star point guard now in his fourth season with the Orlando Magic, has become a standout player on both ends of the court. Suggs was recognized last season with a spot on the NBA All-Defensive Second Team, solidifying his reputation as a defensive force.

Suggs attributes his growth to the guidance of Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley, who has helped him develop his defensive instincts and understanding of the game. “I’ve become much better playing for him,” Suggs said. “I’ve learned nuances and how to pick my spots much better than in the past.”

He credits Mosley and the coaching staff for their commitment to film review and their constant push for improvement. “They pour so much into me and hold me accountable on that end,” said Suggs. “No matter what’s going on, they’ve always held me accountable, and when you have that every day, you have no choice but to match the expectations of what they’re asking for.”

This season, Suggs has also taken on a leadership role, stepping up as a facilitator for the Magic offense, especially in the absence of injured star Paolo Banchero. Head Coach Mosley praised Suggs’ poise and ability to conduct the team, emphasizing his importance in setting the table for the offense.

Off the court, Suggs enjoys the support of his family and the Gonzaga community, both of which have been instrumental in his development as a player and a person. “It’s so grounding, a great place to go and reflect after a long year, a long season,” Suggs said of his time back home in Minnesota.

He also credits former Gonzaga coach Mark Few for teaching him the importance of staying calm and steady, even during challenging situations. “He was always so calm and present for me,” Suggs said. “He’s taught me a lot about life, about being a man, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”

Suggs’ NBA journey has been marked by growth, both personally and professionally. He has learned to embrace the challenges and opportunities that come with playing at the highest level. “You learn a lot about yourself very early,” said Suggs. “It wasn’t all pretty, it wasn’t all flowers, but it’s not supposed to be.”

He expresses his gratitude for the welcoming environment in Orlando, which he sees as an extension of his Gonzaga experience. “I love it here,” said Suggs. “I can be my true, authentic self here as can everybody else.”

Jalen Suggs, a rising star in the NBA, continues to impress with his defensive prowess, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His journey is a testament to the power of hard work, dedication, and the supportive environment that has nurtured his growth both on and off the court.
