KRISHNAGIRI, November 12, 2024 – Retired anganwadi employees in Tamil Nadu took to the streets today, staging a protest demonstration in Krishnagir over a series of demands for improved benefits. The Tamil Nadu Noon-Meal Anganwadi Employees Pensioners Association called for a minimum pension of ₹7,850, dearness allowance, medical insurance, and financial support for last rites and family welfare.
The protesters also demanded timely pension payments on the last day of the month and simplified life certificate verification processes. They further emphasized the need for the government to fulfill election promises made to anganwadi workers.
