**Hyderabad, February 8, 2024:** Vistara, the full-service airline backed by Tata Sons, will cease to exist as an independent entity after its merger with another Tata-owned airline, Air India, was completed on Tuesday. This marks the end of an era for the popular airline, known for its premium services and customer satisfaction.

The final Vistara flights departed on Monday night: UK986 from Mumbai to Delhi at 10:50 PM and UK115 from Delhi to Singapore at 11:45 PM. Effective Tuesday, Vistara flights will operate under the Air India code (AIXXXX).

Vistara’s journey began on January 9, 2015, with a flight from Delhi to Mumbai. The airline was a joint venture between Tata Group (51% stake) and Singapore Airlines (49% stake). Following the merger, Singapore Airlines will retain a 25.1% stake in Air India and is expected to invest ₹3,195 crores in the merged entity.

This merger follows the recent integration of Air India Express and AirAsia India under the Air India umbrella, creating a formidable force in the Indian aviation market.
