**New Delhi, India:** Dev Uthani Ekadashi, considered one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, was celebrated today with the traditional ritual of Tulsi-Shaligram Vivah. This festival marks the end of the four-month-long period of Chaturmas, during which Lord Vishnu is believed to be in a state of yogic sleep.

On this day, Lord Vishnu awakens from his slumber and auspicious ceremonies, including weddings, are considered favorable. The day is also dedicated to Tulsi, revered as an embodiment of Goddess Lakshmi, and her symbolic marriage to the Shaligram, a form of Lord Vishnu, is celebrated.

Devotees observe a fast on this day and perform rituals to honor the divine couple. They offer prayers and seek blessings for prosperity, happiness, and fulfillment of their wishes. The Tulsi-Shaligram Vivah is a symbolic representation of the union between the divine feminine and masculine energies, signifying the eternal bond between Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
