**Chennai, November 12, 2024** – Three pedestrians were injured in Chennai on Monday morning when a portion of a dilapidated building collapsed. The incident occurred on Broadway, near the Madras Medical College (MMC).
The building, a three-story structure previously used as a postgraduate men’s hostel, was being demolished. During the demolition process, a section of the building collapsed, causing a portion of the compound wall to fall as well. The debris struck three people, including an elderly man.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel were swiftly dispatched to the site and removed the debris. The injured individuals were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collapse.
