Mon Nov 11 18:26:37 UTC 2024: ## Bihar Opposition Leader Blames Nitish Kumar for Rise of Communal Forces

Patna, Bihar – Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, has accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of fostering the rise of communal forces in the state. Speaking to the media on Monday, Yadav criticized Kumar’s alleged inconsistency in his political stance, claiming he “takes the name of Mahatma Gandhi but keeps Nathuram Godse in his heart.”

Yadav further blamed Kumar for allowing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and other communal elements to flourish in Bihar. He alleged that the state government’s actions are weakening the state’s social fabric by promoting religious divisions.

He also targeted the BJP leadership, accusing them of provoking communal tensions instead of addressing the real issues facing the people. Yadav criticized the BJP’s focus on religious issues like Hindu-Muslim relations, temples, and mosques, while ignoring critical concerns such as education, healthcare, employment, inflation, and the well-being of the common people.

“If you are in the government, then you should work for the betterment of the common people instead of stirring up division,” Yadav emphasized.

These remarks highlight the growing tension between the opposition and the ruling coalition in Bihar, with both sides accusing each other of exploiting communal sentiments for political gain instead of focusing on governance.

Meanwhile, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahani, who accompanied Yadav at election meetings in Belaganj for the upcoming Bihar Assembly by-election, expressed confidence in the Grand Alliance’s prospects. Sahani called the by-election a “litmus test” for the future of the Bihar Assembly elections, and claimed that if the Grand Alliance forms the government, Tejashwi Yadav will become the Chief Minister with a commitment to reserving the second seat for backward classes.
