**TAIPEI** – Taiwan has concluded its investigation into the September pager explosions in Lebanon, which injured over 1,000 people, including Hezbollah fighters and medics. The investigation found no evidence of involvement by Taiwanese citizens or companies.
The explosions, which security sources initially attributed to pagers bearing the name of Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, were ultimately traced to a model manufactured by a company called Frontier Group Entity outside of Taiwan. While Gold Apollo had authorized Frontier Group Entity to use its trademark, prosecutors found no evidence that the Taiwanese company was involved in the incident.
The investigation, conducted by Taipei prosecutors, found no evidence of criminal activity or Taiwanese involvement in the explosions. They concluded that no domestic manufacturers or individuals were involved in the incident, nor did they violate the Counter-Terrorism Financing Act or engage in any illegal activities.
While the cause of the explosions remains unclear, the incident has raised concerns about the potential use of technology for acts of sabotage or terrorism.
