**Dehradun, India:** Six students tragically lost their lives in a devastating car crash in Uttarakhand’s capital, Dehradun, early Tuesday morning. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. near the ONGC intersection when a truck collided head-on with an Innova car carrying seven students.
The impact of the collision was so severe that the Innova was completely shattered, leaving six students dead at the scene. The victims included three boys and three girls, all reportedly students of a private college. One student survived the crash with serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
According to initial reports, the truck driver fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle after the collision. Police quickly arrived at the accident site and retrieved the bodies from the mangled wreckage. Five bodies were transported to Doon Hospital, while one was taken to Mahant Indresh Hospital.
The deceased students, including both male and female, were identified as Guneet (19), Kamakshi (20), Navya Goyal (23), Rishabh Jain (24), Kunal Kukreja (23), and Atul Agarwal (24). The injured student was identified as Siddhesh Agarwal, a resident of Dehradun.
The victims were reportedly from Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. The concerned SP visited the hospital to oversee the proceedings following the incident.
An investigation into the tragic accident is underway to determine the exact cause of the crash and apprehend the fleeing truck driver.
