Tue Nov 12 08:14:05 UTC 2024: ## Israeli Strikes Kill 14 in Gaza, Including Children, Despite Humanitarian Zone

**Gaza Strip, November 12, 2024** – Two Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have killed at least 14 people, including two children and a woman, sparking outrage as most of the victims were in a designated humanitarian zone.

The first strike, targeting a makeshift cafeteria in the Muwasi area, killed 11 people, including two children. The cafeteria was being used by displaced Palestinians who had fled their homes, seeking shelter in the humanitarian zone.

The second strike, which occurred early Tuesday, hit a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing three people, including a woman, and injuring 11 others.

The Israeli military has not commented on either incident.

The strikes come amid mounting pressure on Israel to allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza. The Biden administration has issued an ultimatum, threatening restrictions on U.S. military funding if Israel does not meet certain demands.

Despite expanding the humanitarian zone, U.S. officials believe Israel has not done enough to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian population. A report by eight international aid agencies stated that Israel has failed to meet the U.S. demands.

The war in Gaza, now in its 13th month, has resulted in over 43,000 Palestinian deaths, according to local health authorities. The Israeli military maintains that its targets are Hamas militants and blames the group for civilian deaths.

The conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on southern Israel, killing over 1,200 people and taking around 250 hostages. Approximately 100 hostages remain in Gaza, with about a third believed to be dead.
