**Mysuru, November 11, 2024:** The scenic Chunchankatte waterfalls, renowned for their beauty during the monsoon season, will be the focus of a grand festival on November 30 and December 1. The “Dhanushkoti Cauvery Jalapata Utsav” aims to celebrate the region’s natural beauty and draw in tourists.

K.R. Nagar MLA D. Ravishankar, who chaired a meeting to discuss the festival’s details, emphasized the need for a grand celebration. He suggested illuminating the entire stretch from K.R. Nagar to Chunchankatte, creating a festive atmosphere. The event will feature cultural performances, local vendor stalls, and an exhibition, making it an engaging experience for visitors.

The MLA also proposed a health camp to provide medical services to attendees.

Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy instructed officials to address road conditions leading to Chunchankatte, ensuring a smooth journey for visitors. He also stressed the importance of cleanliness and the need for a grand stage to host the cultural programs. Students from local schools and colleges are expected to be part of the event.

The Chunchankatte waterfalls, where the Cauvery River drops from a height of 20 meters amidst rugged terrain, hold immense potential for tourism. However, the region currently lacks adequate facilities for visitors, despite previous plans for adventure sports development by the Tourism Department.

This festival presents an opportunity to showcase the region’s natural beauty and attract tourists, further boosting local tourism.
