**Karachi, November 11, 2024:** The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is seeking clarification from the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the hosting of the upcoming Champions Trophy. This comes after the BCCI communicated to the ICC that India will not be traveling to Pakistan for the tournament.

While the ICC confirmed India’s decision, there has been no discussion about a potential “hybrid model” for the tournament, similar to the Asia Cup last year. Under the hybrid model, India’s matches were held in Sri Lanka while other matches took place in Pakistan.

A PCB source has indicated that Dubai is being speculated as a possible venue to host India’s matches in the Champions Trophy, which is scheduled for February 2025.

The PCB has contacted its legal department for advice and is sending an email to the ICC requesting clarification on India’s decision. The PCB is currently assessing the situation and hasn’t finalized its next steps. However, the board is engaging with the Pakistani government for consultations and potential directives.

The source added that the PCB is awaiting policy guidelines from the government regarding India, which will be used to seek clarification from the ICC on the Indian team’s refusal to participate.

The source also highlighted potential legal implications for the ICC if the Pakistani government takes a strong stance on cricket relations with India. This is due to commercial agreements the ICC has with broadcasters and sponsors, who were assured of participation by all top cricket nations in ICC tournaments.

India’s last tour of Pakistan was in 2008, and the two teams only face each other in ICC tournaments.
