**Sharjah, UAE:** Afghanistan has secured a memorable victory over Bangladesh, winning the third and final ODI of the series by five wickets and taking the series 2-1. This victory marks their third consecutive ODI series win, following triumphs over Ireland and South Africa.

The match saw a thrilling chase by the Afghan team after Bangladesh set a challenging target of 245 runs. A strong opening partnership between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmatullah Omarzai laid the foundation for the chase. Gurbaz smashed a century before being dismissed for 102, while Omarzai played a crucial innings, remaining unbeaten on 70 and hitting the winning runs. Mohammad Nabi also contributed with a quickfire 34 runs.

Bangladesh, who had a strong start with the ball, couldn’t quite contain the Afghan onslaught. The early breakthroughs were overshadowed by the brilliance of Gurbaz and Omarzai, who expertly steered their team towards victory.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh put up a strong total thanks to a record-breaking partnership of 145 runs for the fifth wicket between Mahmudullah (98) and Mehidy Hasan (66).

Azmatullah Omarzai was awarded Player of the Match for his all-round performance, while Mohammad Nabi was declared Player of the Series.

This victory solidifies Afghanistan’s rising status as a force to be reckoned with in the world of limited-overs cricket. The team now looks ahead to a three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe starting on December 9th.

Bangladesh will now travel to the Caribbean to face the West Indies in a two-match Test series beginning on November 22nd.
