Mon Nov 11 08:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Former Cricketer Sanjay Bangar’s Son Transitions, Faces Setback in Cricket Dream

**Manchester, UK:** Aryan Bangar, son of former Indian cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar, has transitioned to a woman and now identifies as Anaya. The 23-year-old, who has been playing cricket locally, shared her journey of self-discovery and hormonal replacement surgery on Instagram, but later deleted the post.

In her post, Anaya shared a 10-month progress update, showcasing her transformation. She expressed pride in embracing her true self, even when facing challenges and societal expectations.

Anaya, who has represented Islam Gymkhana and Hinckley Cricket Club, wrote: “Chasing my dream of playing cricket professionally has been a journey filled with sacrifices, resilience, and unwavering dedication… Today, I’m proud to be a part of the sport I love at any level or category, not only as an athlete but as my authentic self.”

However, Anaya’s dreams of pursuing professional cricket may be hampered by a new rule by the International Cricket Council (ICC). In November 2023, the ICC announced that transgender athletes will not be permitted to participate in women’s cricket, citing the need to protect the integrity of the game and player safety.

Anaya expressed her disappointment with the ICC’s decision on Instagram, stating that inclusivity is vital in sport.

Despite the setback, Anaya continues to be active on social media and maintains a strong presence, keeping her followers updated on her life.
