**Odesa, Ukraine -** A Russian drone attack on the southern Ukrainian region of Odesa early Sunday morning resulted in injuries and property damage, according to Ukrainian officials. The attack saw a record number of drones launched, with Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepting 62 out of 145.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region reported fires in garages, damage to residential buildings and shops, and injuries to at least two individuals. Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper confirmed the attack, stating that fires were ignited but providing no further details.

The Ukrainian Military confirmed the attack, stating that while apartment buildings and private property were damaged, there were no casualties. Video footage released by emergency services showed firefighters working in the dark to clear debris from a damaged apartment building, with residents gathered in front.

Russia has not yet commented on the attack. Both sides maintain that they do not target civilians in the ongoing conflict, which began with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. However, thousands of civilian casualties have been reported, the majority of whom are Ukrainian.
