**Vizianagaram, November 11, 2024:** The race for the local body MLC seat in Vizianagaram constituency heated up on Monday as two more candidates filed their nominations. Independent candidate Karukonda Venkata Rao and fellow independent Indukuri Subbalakshmi submitted their papers to Joint Collector and Returning Officer Sedhu Madhavan.

YSRCP candidate and former MLA Sambangi China Venkata Appalanaidu also filed a third set of nomination papers, further solidifying his bid for the seat.

All nominations will undergo scrutiny on Tuesday, with withdrawals permitted until Wednesday. The election is scheduled for November 28, with the counting taking place on December 1.

Meanwhile, Election Observer M.M. Naik, a senior IAS officer, reviewed election preparations with Collector B.R. Ambedkar and Joint Collector Sedhu Madhavan. He emphasized the strict adherence to the model code of conduct, as per the Election Commission of India guidelines.
