**Chennai, November 11, 2024** – Over 1,000 members of the National Transgenders’ Federation staged a protest outside the City Police Commissioner’s office on Monday. The demonstration was directed at a fellow transgender individual, Manthra, who is accused of spreading false and defamatory information about the federation’s internal leadership, known as the Jamath.
The protesters alleged that Manthra had previously circulated derogatory content against the Jamath in March 2024, leading to a police complaint and the registration of a First Information Report. They claimed that Manthra had resumed spreading such content recently, prompting them to file another complaint.
Following the complaint, police assured the protesters that appropriate action would be taken against Manthra. Subsequently, the protesters dispersed from the area.
