Mon Nov 11 03:14:00 UTC 2024: ## South Africa Level Series After Thrilling Win Against India

**Gqeberha, South Africa:** South Africa pulled off a dramatic victory in the second T20I against India, leveling the four-match series at 1-1. The Proteas chased down a modest target of 125, overcoming a five-wicket haul from Varun Chakravarthy that had seemingly put India in control.

Chakravarthy’s impressive spell, which included dismissing Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller off consecutive deliveries, left South Africa reeling at 66/6. However, a blistering partnership between Tristan Stubbs and Gerald Coetzee turned the tide in the final overs.

Stubbs, who finished on 31 off 35, and Coetzee, who smashed 23 off 14, took the Indian pacers Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan to the cleaners. The duo plundered 45 runs off the last three overs, sealing a thrilling victory for South Africa.

Earlier, India struggled to build momentum, being restricted to 124/6. Marco Jansen started the innings strongly, taking a wicket-maiden and dismissing captain Suryakumar Yadav in the powerplay. India lost half their side before reaching 75 in the 12th over.

Hardik Pandya, who remained unbeaten on 39 off 45, tried to accelerate the innings but faced a challenging run rate. Arshdeep Singh’s late flourish, including a six off the last ball of the innings, ultimately proved insufficient.

The series now heads to Centurion for the third T20I on Wednesday, with both sides looking to gain the upper hand in the four-match contest.
