Mon Nov 11 02:25:50 UTC 2024: ## South Africa Stuns India in Thriller, Levels T20 Series at 1-1

**Gqeberha, South Africa:** South Africa pulled off a thrilling three-wicket victory over India in the second T20I of the four-match series on Sunday, leveling the series at 1-1. The Proteas, chasing a target of 125 runs, secured the win with one over to spare, extending their 17-year winning streak at the St. George’s Park.

India, batting first after losing the toss, suffered a shaky start losing three wickets in the powerplay. Sanju Samson, who had smashed a century in the first match, failed to score. Abhishek Sharma, who has been struggling for consistency, also disappointed. Hardik Pandya top-scored with 39 runs, while the other batters struggled to make significant contributions. India eventually managed to score 124/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Tristan Stubbs (47) and Hendricks (27) were the heroes for South Africa, steering the chase with crucial partnerships. No other batter reached double figures.

The Indian bowlers fought back, with Varun Chakravarthy taking a remarkable five wickets for 17 runs in his four overs. Ravi Bishnoi and Arshdeep Singh claimed one wicket each.

This victory marks South Africa’s fifth T20I win in five attempts at the St. George’s Park. They last lost a T20I at this ground in 2007 against the West Indies. Although India holds the record for the highest score at the venue (180 runs scored in December 2022), the South Africans remain undefeated in T20Is here.

The series now heads to Centurion for the third T20I, with both teams looking to gain an advantage in the exciting clash.
