Sun Nov 10 23:44:07 UTC 2024: ## India Dominates South Africa in First T20I, Sanju Samson Stars with Century

**Durban, South Africa:** India made a strong start to their four-match T20I series against South Africa, winning the first game by a convincing 61 runs. This follows India’s victory over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final in June this year.

The star of the match was Sanju Samson, who smashed a brilliant century off just 50 balls, hitting 7 fours and 10 sixes for a strike rate of 214. Tilak Verma contributed 33 runs off 18 balls, while captain Suryakumar Yadav scored a quick 21 off 17 balls.

The Indian bowlers were equally impressive, restricting the South African batsmen. Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets each, while Avesh Khan bagged two and Arshdeep Singh claimed one.

Speaking after the win, captain Suryakumar Yadav praised his team’s performance, highlighting Samson’s hard work and dedication, and commending the spinners for their crucial wickets.

“We haven’t changed our style of cricket in the last 3-4 series,” he said. “Samson is reaping the rewards of his hard work over the past few years. He was close to a century but still looked for boundaries. That shows his character, and that’s what we want.”

The second match of the series is scheduled for Sunday, November 10th.
